Thanking Freundlich for his letter and research efforts on the deflection of light, which is receiving broader interest, and assuming that Freundlich has received Einstein's new work. Mentioning that he considers Abraham's theory as inconsistent, and stating that the theory of gravitation by Mie is fantastic and the theory by Nordström is very rational. Noting that the next solar eclipse will show which of the two theories is the right one. With a postscript referring generally to a publication in an American journal that has been brought to his attention by the local astronomer.
